Margaret Watts Romney

Margaret Watts Romney helps people find the vision for what’s next, the words that fit, and the presence to carry them.

For over 20 years, she’s been guiding leaders and teams through the real work of communication: clarifying vision, showing up with calm confidence, and speaking in ways that build trust and spark action.

She’s coached over 100 TEDx speakers, worked with over 100 TEDx speakers, wrote the book Speakership is Leadership, hosts the Speakership in the Time of Change podcast, and founded MasterSpeaker Lab, now The Speakership Lab, a communication firm that works at the intersection of public speaking, neuroscience, and purposeful leadership. Her programs support clients from growing startups to Fortune 500 companies, helping them speak clearly, lead powerfully, and connect with the people who matter most.

Margaret’s work is grounded in brain science and human development, with master’s studies in Strategic Communication and certification through the NeuroLeadership Institute. Clients value her calm presence, sharp questions, joyful laughter, and the way she makes growth feel both safe and energizing.

When she’s not working with leaders, her free time is filled with gardens, blazing trails in the forests of Vermont, tea with friends, writing, and reveling in her three grown daughters’ marvelous lives.
